I recall my mother saying with great regularity ‘let’s have fish today, it is so good for the brain’. She was almost right – in those days we did not know that while all fish are good sources of protein it’s oily fish that supplies our bodies with essential Omega-3. Recently Omega-3 has been shown to help the brain develop in infancy, and thus may aid concentration and even memory.

I became a mother during the war period when expectant mothers and young children were issued with free cod-liver oil to help maintain health during the rationing years. My daughter and I both recall having our spoonfuls of the fish oil each day. It was a wonderful supplement for our health but not so wonderful for our taste-buds! Thankfully today there are easy to chew capsules, with the same health giving properties, that children will enjoy.

Packshot of Haliborange Omega-3 Fish Oil For Kids
Now there is a special range of omega-3 products for children in the shape of Haliborange Omega-3 for kids. It’s available in various forms; a syrup for infants, chewy capsules for younger children and even ones for teenagers. They can choose between orange and blackcurrant flavour to help them get the Omega-3 they need without the horrible taste I remember railing against. As well as Omega-3, Haliborange Advanced Formula also contains vitamins A, C, D and E. Children seem to get fussier about the food they eat every year, so it is so useful that they have this product to give them essential nutrients. Even so it is definitely worth encouraging your children to choose oily fish and hopefully enjoy it!
